NRISA member Freny Bagli has been bestowed with the 2014 Caroline Chisholm Volunteer Award.
The awards for 2014, were presented to the successful nominees in a special ceremony on Saturday 16 August, by the Awards founder and Member for Chisholm, Anna Burke. "Throughout our community there are people giving their time, skills and energy to help people in need and support organisations that couldn't exist without them."
Now in their twelfth year, these Awards named in honour of Caroline Chisholm, a tireless worker for the welfare and political rights of women and children in the 19th century, and are open to volunteers who either reside or do their voluntary work in the seat of Chisholm, which covers all of Box Hill and Mount Waverley, and parts of Box Hill North, Burwood, Ashwood, Chadstone, Clayton, Oakleigh and Glen Waverley.

Pallavi is the daughter of NRISA members Hema and Nalin Sharda.

Mrs Krishna Arora receives Empowering Monash Women award

NRISA member Mrs Krishna Arora has been recognised by the City of Monash for her dedicated service to the community, particularly in empowering migrant women. She had demonstrated her leadership skills as the past president and vice-president of the Indian Senior Citizens Association (ISCA) and many other community organisations. Shri Radhey Shyam Gupta

Shri Radhey Shyam Gupta is a well known Sitar player in Melbourne, and Australia. He honed his skill while studying Textile Engineering at IIT Delhi in the 1970s. On top of being a computing professional, he has served the community through his 'Sharda Kala Kendra', running music classes, organising Sangeet and Sahitya Sandhya, and giving various concerts.
